  H.J.R. No. 69
 
 
 
A JOINT RESOLUTION
  proposing a constitutional amendment to abolish the constitutional
  authority for the office of inspector of hides and animals.
         BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 64, Article XVI, Texas Constitution, is
  amended to read as follows:
         Sec. 64.  The [office of Inspector of Hides and Animals, the]
  elective district, county, and precinct offices which have
  heretofore had terms of two years, shall hereafter have terms of
  four years; and the holders of such offices shall serve until their
  successors are qualified.
         SECTION 2.  Section 65(a), Article XVI, Texas Constitution,
  is amended to read as follows:
         (a)  This section applies to the following offices: District
  Clerks; County Clerks; County Judges; Judges of the County Courts
  at Law, County Criminal Courts, County Probate Courts and County
  Domestic Relations Courts; County Treasurers; Criminal District
  Attorneys; County Surveyors; [Inspectors of Hides and Animals;]
  County Commissioners; Justices of the Peace; Sheriffs; Assessors
  and Collectors of Taxes; District Attorneys; County Attorneys;
  Public Weighers; and Constables.
         SECTION 3.  This proposed constitutional amendment shall be
  submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 6, 2007.
  The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the
  proposition: "The constitutional amendment to abolish the
  constitutional authority for the office of inspector of hides and
  animals."
