Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on April 28, 2011, and pursuant to permission granted to meet while the house was in session on April 28,2011, the House Committee on Culture, Recreation & Tourism met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Guillen, at 3:32 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Guillen; King, Tracy O.; Kuempel; Larson; and Smith, Todd.

 

A quorum was present.


 

HCR 127

 

The chair laid out HCR 127.

 

The chair recognized Representative Kuempel to explain HCR 127.

 

The chair recognized Representative Kuempel to close on HCR 127.

Representative Kuempel moved that HCR 127, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent Calendars.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Guillen; Deshotel; King, Tracy O.; Kuempel; Larson; Smith, Todd (6).

 

Nays:                           None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representatives Elkins; Dukes; Price (3).

 

HB 251

 

The chair laid out HB 251 as pending business.

 

Representative Larson offered a complete committee substitute.

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

Representative Larson moved that HB 251, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:
