Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on April 29, 2013, the House Committee on County Affairs met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the acting chair, Representative Joe Farias, at 8:31 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Farias; González, Mary; Hernandez Luna; Kolkhorst; and Simpson.

 

A quorum was present.

 


 

The chair directed that the April 18, 2013 and April 19, 2013 minutes for the House Committee on County Affairs be corrected. The corrected minutes were authorized without objection.

 

 

HB 2518

 

The chair laid out HB 2518 as pending business.

 

Representative Simpson offered a complete committee substitute.

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

Representative González, Mary moved that HB 2518, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent Calendars.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:
