Pursuant to a notice posted on October 8, 2014, the House Committee on Urban Affairs met in a public hearing and was called to order by the acting chair, Representative Carol Alvarado, at 10:30 a.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Leach; and Sanford.

 


 

The Chair began taking testimony on Urban Affair’s interim charge relating to examine population growth in Texas cities and the impact the growth has had on housing, available land resources, city centers, businesses, and the state’s economy. Evaluate Texas’ preparedness to respond to future growth and ensure economic stability.
