Pursuant to suspension of Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Veteran Affairs & Military Installations was held on Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Senator Van de Putte's Desk.

The chair called the meeting to order at 1:02 PM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

The chair called up HB 633 as a matter of pending business. Senator Davis moved that HB 633 be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 4 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 1 absent.

Senator Davis moved that the bill be recommended for placement on the Local & Uncontested Calendar; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

The chair called up HB 1678 as a matter of pending business. Senator Rodríguez moved that HB 1678 be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion carried with a record vote of 4 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 1 absent. Senator Rodríguez moved that the bill be recommended for placement on the Local & Uncontested Calendar; without objection, it was so ordered. 

 

 

 

The chair called up HB 2028 as a matter of pending business. Senator Davis moved the  adoption of the previously laid out committee substitute; without objection, it was so ordered. Senator Davis moved that HB 2028 do not pass but that CSHB 2028 be reported back to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 4 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 1 absent. Senator Davis moved that the bill be recommended for placement on the Local & Uncontested Calendar; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

The chair called up HB 2029 as a matter of pending business. Senator Davis moved the  adoption of the previously laid out committee substitute; without objection, it was so ordered. Senator Davis moved that HB 2029 do not pass but that CSHB 2028 be reported back to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 4 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 1 absent.
