A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to an annual report on the financial impact of |
|
|
undocumented immigrants on the state budget and economy. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 403, Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 403.0307 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 403.0307. REPORT ON FINANCIAL IMPACT OF UNDOCUMENTED |
|
|
IMMIGRANTS. (a) Not later than September 1 of each year, the |
|
|
comptroller shall publish a report containing a comprehensive |
|
|
financial analysis of the impact of undocumented immigrants on the |
|
|
state budget and economy. |
|
|
(b) For purposes of the annual report, the comptroller shall |
|
|
apply the methodology used for the comptroller's special report, |
|
|
"Undocumented Immigrants in Texas: A Financial Analysis of the |
|
|
Impact to the State Budget and Economy," published in December |
|
|
2006. |
|
|
SECTION 2. The comptroller shall publish the first report |
|
|
required under Section 403.0307, Government Code, as added by this |
|
|
Act, not later than September 1, 2016. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
