On April 28, 2015, the House Committee on Business & Industry authorized the correction of the  minutes for the meeting of the House Committee on Business & Industry held on April 23, 2015. The following are the corrected minutes for that meeting:

 

Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on April 23, 2015, the House Committee on Business & Industry met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Oliveira, at 12:04 p.m.

Representative  Simmons moved that the April 16, 2015 minutes for the House Committee on Business & Industry be corrected. The corrected minutes were authorized without objection.

 

Representative Villalba has requested he be permitted to input a statement on HJR 26 into the minutes. The Chairman moved that Representative Villalba be able to make the motion. There was no objection. The statement reads as follows:

 

“As a proponent of local control and steadfast supporter of providing my constituents with as much authority as possible to weigh in important issues that affect all Texans, I am generally inclined to support proposals that call for an election of the people on a particular matter.  After hearing the evidence in committee and speaking with leaders of our community, I believe that the people should have the opportunity to have a voice on the subject of the minimum wage for Texas workers.”
