Pursuant to a notice posted on January 28, 2016, the House Committee on Mental Health, Select met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Price, at 10:04 a.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Price; Moody; Bonnen, Greg; Coleman; Davis, Sarah; Galindo; Murr; Turner, Chris; and White, James.

 

A quorum was present.

Chair Price made opening remarks and introduced the committee clerk.

The committee heard testimony on the overview of the state of mental health/behavioral health in Texas from staff of the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC).

At 12:15 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was recessed until 1:00 p.m., February 18, 2016.

 

The committee reconvened at 1:04 p.m. and was called to order by the chair, Representative Price.
