Pursuant to a notice posted on April 18, 2016, the House Committee on Mental Health, Select met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Price, at 10:05 a.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Price; Moody; Bonnen, Greg; Davis, Sarah; Galindo; Murr; Rose; Thompson, Senfronia; Turner, Chris; and White, James.

 

A quorum was present.

The committee met to hear invited testimony on mental/behavioral health care services regarding early identification, crisis intervention, access to care, continuity of care, coordination of services related to an integrated system of care, and the delivery of care in rural, urban, and underserved areas. Testimony also addressed workforce challenges and identified ways in which delivery of services may be improved.

At 12:31 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was recessed until 1:15 p.m., April 27, 2016.

 

The committee reconvened at 1:20 p.m. and was called to order by the chair, Representative Price.

 

The quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Price; Moody; Bonnen, Greg; Davis, Sarah; Galindo; Muņoz, Jr.; Murr; Rose; Thompson, Senfronia; Turner, Chris; and White, James.
