Pursuant to a notice posted on November 6, 2015, the House Committee on State Affairs met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Cook, at 1:34 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Cook; Farney; Farrar; Geren; Huberty; Kuempel; and Minjarez.

 

A quorum was present.

 

 

 

 

The committee met to examine state and local laws applicable to undocumented immigrants throughout the State of Texas and analyze the effects of those laws in conjunction with federal immigration laws and the policies and practices followed by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
