Relating to certain notices and information about certain releasees from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice that are provided to or made accessible to criminal justice agencies.

HB 342         Canales                  
Relating to notice provided to a court regarding certain defendants placed on state jail felony community supervision.

Relating to the release on bail of a defendant arrested following a violation of a condition of community supervision.

HB 183         Dutton                   
Relating to the consequences of successfully completing a period of deferred adjudication community supervision.

HB 821         Shaheen                  
Relating to the solicitation of pen pals by certain inmates of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

HB 117         White | et al.           
Relating to ethyl alcohol monitoring as a condition of community supervision for certain intoxication offenses; authorizing the imposition of costs.

HB 1421        Johnson, Jarvis          
Relating to the creation of the office of independent oversight ombudsman for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

     The Committee will meet to consider new Bills and may consider pending business.

    

     Witnesses providing testimony should limit their remarks to three (3) minutes.  Witnesses may provide written materials for use by the Committee in accordance with the Texas House Rules, in which case the witness should provide ten (10) copies of the materials to the Committee Clerk prior to the hearing if at all possible.

 

     House Video / Audio services will provide video and audio coverage of the hearing in accord with customary House of Representatives practice and procedure.
