         Pursuant to a notice posted on June 19, 2000, the House  
         Committee on Appropriations-S/C on Education met in a public  
         hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative  
         Cuellar, at 10:17 a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Cuellar; Delisi; Giddings; Mowery (4). 
          
         Absent:   Representative Hochberg (1). 
          
         A quorum was present.  Testimony was taken.  (See attached  
         witness list.)

         At 12:08 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was recessed until 1:15 p.m., June 26, 2000. 
          
         The committee reconvened at 1:17 p.m. and was called to order by  
         the chair, Representative Cuellar. The roll was answered as  
         follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Cuellar; Delisi; Giddings; Hochberg;  
                   Mowery (5). 
          
         Absent:   None (0). 
          
         A quorum was present.  Testimony was taken.  (See attached  
         witness list.) 
          
         At 4:45 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned until 9:00 am, June 27, 2000.
