         Pursuant to a notice posted on January 24, 2001, the House  
         Committee on Appropriations, Subcommittee on General Government,  
         met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair,  
         Representative Heflin, at 8:03 a.m. 
          
         Present:  Representatives Heflin; Luna, Vilma; Puente (3). 
         Absent:   Representatives Flores; Pickett (2). 
          
         A quorum was present.

         At 9:54 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was recessed until adjournment of the House Floor,  
         January 31, 2001. 
          
         The committee reconvened at 11:36 a.m. and was called to order  
         by Representative Heflin. The roll was answered as follows:

                   (5). 
         Absent:   Representatives Flores (1) 
          
         A quorum was present.

         the meeting was recessed until 1:10 p.m., January 31, 2001.The  
         committee reconvened at 1:14 p.m. and was called to order by
