         Pursuant to a notice posted on April 17, 2002, the House  
         Committee on Appropriations, Subcommittee on Interim Charge #5,  
         Return To Work, met in a Joint public hearing with the House  
         Committee on Pensions and Investments, and was called to order  
         by the chair, Representative Pitts, at 8:46 a.m. 
          
         Present:  Representatives Pitts; Maxey; West, George "Buddy"  
                   (3). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Giddings; King, Tracy; Pickett; Smith  
                   (4). 
          
         The Following members were present from the House Committee on  
         Pensions and Investments: 
         Representatives Tillery; Crownover; Goodman; Telford, Williams 
          
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.)

         A quorum was present.

         present.) 
          
         At 11:33 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,
