         Pursuant to a notice posted on February 1, 2001, the House  
         Committee on Appropriations-S/C on General Government,  
         Subcommittee on General Government, met in a public hearing and  
         was called to order by the chair, Representative Heflin, at 8:07  
         a.m. 
          
         Present:  Representatives Heflin; Pickett; Puente (3). 
         Absent:   Representative Flores; Luna, Vilma (2). 
          
         A quorum was present.

         At 9:56 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was recessed until adjournment of the House Floor,  
         February 6, 2001. 
          
         The committee reconvened at 12:20 p.m. and was called to order  
         by the chair, Representative Heflin. The roll was answered as  
         follows:

         Absent:   Representatives Luna, Vilma; Pickett (2). 
          
         A quorum was present.
