         Pursuant to a notice posted on February 7, 2001, the House  
         Committee on Appropriations-S/C on General Government, met in a  
         public hearing and was called to order by the chair,  
         Representative Heflin, at 7:34 a.m. 
          
         Present:  Representatives Heflin; Pickett; Puente (3). 
         Absent:   Representatives Flores; Luna, Vilma (2). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.)

         At 9:55 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was recessed until 1:30 p.m., February 12, 2001. 
          
         The committee reconvened at 1:47 p.m. and was called to order by  
         the chair, Representative Heflin. The roll was answered as  
         follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Heflin; Luna, Vilma; Pickett (3). 
         Absent:   Representatives Flores; Puente (2). 
          
         A quorum was present.
