         Pursuant to a notice posted on January 15, 2002, the House  
         Committee on Appropriations-S/C on Regulatory, met in a public  
         hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative  
         Pitts, at 10:10 a.m. 
          
         Present:  Representatives Pitts; Allen; Hamric; King, Tracy;  
                   Moreno, Paul (5). 
          
         Absent:   None (0). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         (Representative West, Buddy now present.)(Speaker Laney now  
         present.) 
          
         At 12:10 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was recessed until 1:15 p.m., January 29, 2002. 
          
         The committee reconvened at 1:25 p.m. and was called to order by  
         the chair, Representative Pitts. The roll was answered as  
         follows:

                   Paul (4). 
          
         Absent:   Representative Hamric (1). 
          
         A quorum was present.
