Pursuant to a notice posted on March 9, 2001, the House
Committee on Elections met in a public hearing and was called to
order by the chair, Representative Danburg, at 2:18 p.m.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Danburg; Denny; Hodge; Madden; Truitt
(5).
Absent: Representatives Jones, Jesse; Gallego; Sadler; Wilson
(4).
A quorum was present.
The chair instructed committee staff to inlcude on a witness
list the name of persons who filled out witness affirmation
forms but did not testify.

The chair laid out HB 408.
Representative Hodge moved to reconsider the vote by which the
measure failed to receive an afirmative vote from committee. The
motion prevailed by the following record vote:

Madden; Truitt (5).
Nays: None (0).
Present, Not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representatives Jones, Jesse; Gallego; Sadler;

Representative Denny offered an amendment to the measure.

favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do
pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the following
