         Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule  
         11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on  
         Administration was held on Thursday, January 25, 2001, in the  
         Senate Chamber, Senator Cain's Desk

         The Chair called the meeting to order at 11:23 a.m.  There being  
         a quorum present, the following business was transacted:   
          
         Senator Cain laid out the Redistricting committee budget and a  
         letter requesting an exemption to the salary cap for the General  
         Counsel and the Director for approval.  Senator Moncrief moved  
         approval of the budget and exemption letter; without objection,  
         it was so ordered. 
          
         There being no further business, at 11:24 a.m. Senator Moncrief  
         moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of  
         the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
