         Pursuant to a notice posted on January 15, 2002, the Joint  
         Select Committee on Public School Finance met in a public  
         hearing and was called to order by the co-chair, Senator Bivins  
         at 9:10 a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Senator Bivins; Representative Sadler; Caperton, Kent;  
                   Davis, Will; Foster, Craig; Representative Grusendorf;  
                   Representative Hochberg; Senator Ogden; Representative  
                   Oliveira; Senator Shapiro; Representative Smith;  
                   Thompson, David (12). 
          
         Absent:   Representative Dutton; Olson, Lyndon; Senator  
                   Shapleigh; Stiles, Mark; Senator Van de Putte; Senator  
                   West, Royce (6). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         Representative Sadler moved that the committee adopt the minutes  
         of all previous meetings of the committee.  The minutes were  
         adopted without objection.

         (Senator Van de Putte  now present.) 
          
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         At 11:30 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
