         Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule  
         11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Health &  
         Human Services was held on Wednesday, March 1, 2006, in the  
         Senate Chamber at Austin, Texas.

         The Chair called the meeting to order at 2:02 p.m., and a quorum  
         was established.  There being a quorum present, the following  
         business was transacted:   
          
         The Chair welcomed Committee members and gave opening remarks.  
                  
         Senator Zaffirini moved adoption of the interim committee rules.   
         Without objection, the rules were adopted. 
                    
         The Chair opened the floor to invited testimony.  
                    
         Witnesses testifying on charge # 10 are shown on the attached  
         list.     
          
         There being no further business, at 4:34 p.m. Senator Janek  
         moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of  
         the Chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
