R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Travis Miller Griffin Sr., chief of staff in the
  office of State Representative Dwayne Bohac, is marking 20 years of
  public service and political engagement in 2017; and
         WHEREAS, In 1997, Mr. Griffin began his career as assistant
  to the president of The University of Texas at Austin; he was hired
  as finance coordinator for the Republican Party of Texas the
  following year; subsequently, he served on the successful Texas
  Senate campaign of Todd Staples, and during the 77th Legislative
  Session, he was constituent liaison for Senator Staples; he then
  served the Republican Party of Texas as regional field director and
  helped launch the 2002 Texas Victory Effort that sent the first
  Republican majority to the Texas House since 1872; for the 78th
  Legislative Session, he served as legislative director for
  Representative Bohac, and he then guided his campaign in the next
  election cycle; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Griffin traveled to Missouri in 2004 as a field
  representative for George W. Bush's presidential campaign and
  implemented a highly effective voter turnout plan; the next year,
  he returned to the office of Representative Bohac as chief of staff,
  and after the legislative session, he joined Texans for Rick Perry
  as statewide field director; he established the Perry Alliance
  Network, a groundbreaking social media community, and organized a
  political phone bank of record-setting size; after serving on
  Governor Perry's 2007 Texas Inaugural Committee, he was hired as
  his deputy director of community affairs; and
         WHEREAS, During the 2008 election, Mr. Griffin was director
  of the Stars Over Texas political action committee, which worked
  for the Republican majority in the Texas House; he later continued
  to support that mission by creating his own PAC, the Texas
  Republican House Committee, which effectively promoted grassroots
  engagement through such events as the Hands Off Texas rallies, and
  in 2010, he became political director of the Republican Party of
  Texas; after his successful tenure on the board of the Ronald Reagan
  Memorial Highway Fund, he and his wife, Jennifer, worked together
  in behalf of the Romney-Ryan presidential ticket as political
  account executives at FLS Connect; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Griffin followed in his father's footsteps in
  2013 by relaunching Griffin and Associates, a political and public
  relations consulting company; the firm ran the first campaign for
  George P. Bush, who was elected land commissioner with the highest
  percentage of votes won by any Texas candidate for statewide office
  in 2014; that year, Mr. Griffin was also elected chair for Travis
  County Precinct 354; and
         WHEREAS, Returning to the legislative environment in 2015,
  Mr. Griffin became executive director of the Innovation and
  Technology Caucus of the Texas House chaired by Representative
  Bohac, and he resumed his previous role as chief of staff for
  Representative Bohac; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Griffin is devoted to his family and faith; he is
  the proud father of two children, Travis Miller Jr. and Madison, and
  he is a valued member of Leander United Methodist Church; and
         WHEREAS, Widely admired for his integrity, expertise,
  creativity, and formidable work ethic, Travis Griffin has
  demonstrated a deep, enduring commitment to good government and the
  electoral process, and he may take justifiable pride in his
  outstanding contributions to the Lone Star State; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Travis Miller Griffin Sr. for two decades
  of public service and political engagement and extend to him
  sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Griffin as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
