Pursuant to a notice posted on July 2, 2019, the House Committee on Homeland Security & Public Safety met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Nevárez, at 2:10 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Nevárez; Paul; Calanni; Clardy; Goodwin; Lang; and Tinderholt.

 

A quorum was present.


 

The Committee met jointly with the committee on International Relations and Economic Development to hear invited testimony on issues related to the increase in asylum-seeking migrant families at the Texas-Mexico border.
