Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on April 1, 2019, House Committee on Ways & Means met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Burrows, at 2:00 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Burrows; Guillen; Martinez Fischer; Murphy; Noble; Rodriguez; Sanford; Shaheen; and Wray.

 

A quorum was present.

 

 

HB 2

 

Representative Murphy moved to reconsider the vote by which HB 2, as substituted, was reported favorably to the full house.  The motion to reconsider prevailed without objection.

 

Representative Murphy moved to reconsider the vote by which the committee substitute for HB 2 was adopted. The motion to reconsider prevailed without objection.

 

Representative Murphy withdrew the committee substitute to HB 2.

 

Representative Murphy offered a complete committee substitute to HB 2.

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

Representative Murphy moved that HB 2, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:   Representatives Burrows; Guillen; Murphy; Noble; Sanford; Shaheen; Wray (7).

 

Nays:   Representatives Martinez Fischer; Rodriguez (2).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:            Representatives Bohac; Cole (2).

 

HB 861

 

The chair laid out HB 861 as pending business.

 

Representative Rodriguez moved that HB 861, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Burrows; Guillen; Martinez Fischer; Murphy; Noble; Rodriguez; Sanford; Shaheen; Wray (9).

 

Nays:                           None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representatives Bohac; Cole (2).

 

 

 

 

At 2:05 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
