Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Business & Commerce was held on Tuesday, April 30, 2019, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.012, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 8:00 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

Senator Nichols moved that the bill be recommended for placement on the Local & Uncontested Calendar; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

The chair laid out SB 732 as a matter pending business by Senator Hughes. Senator Nichols moved adoption of the committee substitute; without objection, it was so ordered. Senator Nichols moved that SB 732 do not pass but that the committee substitute to SB 732 do pass and be recommended to the full senate. The motion carried with a record vote of 9 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 0 absent. Senator Nichols moved that the bill be recommended for placement on the Local & Uncontested Calendar; without objection, it was so ordered. 

 

The chair laid out SB 2551 as a matter pending business by Senator Hinojosa. Senator Nichols moved adoption of the committee substitute; without objection, it was so ordered. Senator Nichols moved that SB 2551 do not pass but that the committee substitute to SB 2551 do pass and be recommended to the full senate. The motion carried with a record vote of 8 ayes, 1 nays, 0 present not voting, and 0 absent.

 

 

 

 

 

 

A Motion in Writing requesting unanimous consent to be shown voting aye was submitted by the

following: Senator Whitmire on HB 1960, SB 732, and SB 2551; Senator Campbell on HB 1960, SB 732, and SB 2551. These votes are reflected in the final vote on the aforementioned bills.
