Pursuant to suspension of Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Natural Resources & Economic Development was held on Friday, May 10, 2019, at Senator Birdwell's Desk.

The chair called the meeting to order at 2:32 PM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

The following members arrived after the roll was called: Senator Bryan Hughes.

 

The chair laid out as a matter of pending business HB 2402 and the committee substitute. Senator Fallon moved to pull down the committee substitute that had been sent up at a previous hearing; without objection, it was so ordered. Senator Fallon sent up a new committee substitute. The chair recognized the author, Senator Fallon, to explain the difference between the new committee substitute and the senate bill as filed.

Senator Fallon moved adoption of the committee substitute; without objection, it was so ordered.

Senator Fallon moved that HB 2402 do not pass but that CSHB 2402 be reported back to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 10 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 1 absent.

 

Senator Fallon moved that the bill be recommended for placement on the Local & Uncontested Calendar; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

There being no further business, at 2:34 PM Senator Birdwell moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
