Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Property Tax was held on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, in the Betty King Committee Room at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 1:31 PM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

Senator Bettencourt made a motion on the Senate floor to suspend the Senate Rules 11.10 and 11.18 to move the hearing location to the Betty King Room from E1.016.

 

The following members arrived after the roll was called:

Senator Brandon Creighton

Senator Juan Hinojosa

 

Senator Paxton assumed the chair.

 

The chair laid out SB 955 and recognized the author, Senator Bettencourt, to explain the bill.

 

Witnesses testifying and registering on the bill are shown on the attached list.

 

The chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

Senator Creighton assumed the chair.

 

Senator Creighton moved that SB 955 be left pending; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

The chair laid out SB 956 and recognized the author, Senator Bettencourt, to explain the bill.
