Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Water & Rural Affairs was held on Monday, February 4, 2019, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.012, at Austin, Texas.

The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:30 PM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

The following members arrived after the roll was called:

Senator Lois Kolkhorst

 

The Chair made introductory remarks and introduced committee staff. The Chair recognized the other members of the committee to make introductions and opening remarks.

Senator Taylor moved adoption of the committee rules. The rules were adopted by a vote of 5 ayes, 0 nays and 2 absent.

The Chair called the following agency representatives to provide an overview and update: Texas Water Development Board, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, and Texas State Soil & Water Conservation Board (see attached witness list.)

 

 

There being no further business, at 2:42 PM Senator Perry moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
