Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 9, 2025, the House Committee on Corrections met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Harless, at 1:16 p.m.

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Harless; Jones, Venton; Allen; Harrison; Lowe; Meza; Schatzline; and Wharton.

A quorum was present.

SB 958

The chair laid out SB 958 as pending business.

The chair moved that SB 958, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

Ayes:                           Representatives Harless; Jones, Venton; Allen; Harrison; Lowe; Meza; Schatzline; Wharton (8).

Nays:                           None (0).

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

Absent:                        Representative Lozano (1).

The chair directed that the April 23, 2025 minutes for the House Committee on Corrections be corrected. The corrected minutes were authorized without objection.

At 1:18 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
