Pursuant to a notice posted on March 3, 2025, the House Committee on General Investigating met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Bell, Keith, at 9:04 a.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Bell, Keith; Gámez; Bonnen; Geren; and Moody.

 

A quorum was present.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Vice-Chair Gámez moved to authorize the chair of the committee to act on behalf of the whole committee, until the convening of the 90th Legislature, to exercise the committee’s powers under Section 301.020(a)–(b), Government Code, and Section 13(b-5)(1)–(2), Rule 3, House Rules, and any other relevant authority provided that this delegation of authority does not affect the ability of the committee, by majority vote, to exercise the same powers.

The motion prevailed without objection.

 

The chair gave a summary on the committee’s jurisdiction, which included its authority as it relates to appropriate workplace conduct.

The Chair moved to adopt the committee rules.

The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Bell, Keith; Gámez; Bonnen; Geren; Moody (5).

 

Nays:                           None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        None (0).

 

At 9:05 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
