Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 20, 2025, and permission granted on May 20, 2025, to meet while the House was in session, the House Committee on Higher Education met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Wilson, at 4:35 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Wilson; Howard; Davis, Aicha; Lambert; Perez, Vincent; Shofner; Tinderholt; VanDeaver; and Ward Johnson.

The chair laid out SB 2615.

 

Representative Shaheen offered a complete committee substitute.

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

Representative Shaheen moved that SB 2615, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:
