Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Congressional Redistricting, Special was held on Friday, July 25, 2025, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.036, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 10:13 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

The following members arrived after the roll was called: Senator Hughes

Senator Creighton moved adoption of the committee rules. There being objection, a public vote was taken. The motion carried with a record vote of 6 ayes, 3 nays, 0 present not voting, and 0 absent.

The Chair made opening remarks and recognized other members to make opening statements.

Senator Miles moved that the committee issue a subpoena.

Senator Miles moved to table the motion.

Witnesses providing public testimony via videoconferencing are shown on the attached list.

At 12:45 PM Senator Creighton assumed the chair. 

At 1:06 PM Senator King resumed the chair.

There being no further witnesses, public testimony was closed.

There being no further business, at 2:14 PM Senator King moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
